Composed of multiple corking stations placed on a rotating carousel, the Z-SR automatic rotary capping unit elegantly and smoothly applies 55 mm long natural or champagne corks (⌀ 24–28 mm) onto glass bottles in a continuous non-stop motion, allowing multiple bottles to be corked at the same time.

  • “No bottle – no cork” system stops if the bottle is not in place
  • Cork diameter: 24–28 mm; cork height: up to 55 mm
  • Glass bottle diameter: 50–115 mm; bottle height: 200–380 mm

Method of operation:

Corks are loaded in the hopper – feeder, where are distributed into the feeding chutes of individual corking stations. Hopper design allows gentle cork orientation and distribution, avoiding cork chipping, which will form cork dust. Filled bottles are transferred in the turret, under the corking station, with the help of a star-wheel. Bottles are lifted, with the help of mechanical bottle lifter, to make a tight fit with cantering cone under cork compression unit. If corking under vacuum is applied, the vacuum unit will create vacuum in the bottle neck, before cork in inserted. Corks are feed in the compression unit, where are slowly compressed and rapidly inserted in the bottle, with a plunger, keeping natural elasticity and molecular structures of the cork intact. The compression unit is specially designed, with 4 piece hardened stainless-steel jaws, enclosed in housing, which allows quick and easy unit extraction, with no tools needed. The compression unit can be extracted for cleaning or inspection. All the components’ motions are cam operated, allowing repeatability of corking process on all the bottles. Corked bottles are transported from the turret with the help of a star wheel.
