Innovation runs in the family and it is with great pleasure that we share our latest research projects executed in collaboration with our business partners and co-financed by innovation funding programmes.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

AUTOMATED WASTE-TO-INSECT FEED SYSTEM

Project name: Automated waste-to-insect feed system (2023-2025)

The objective of our project is the development of an advanced, versatile, and compact system for the automated bioconversion of diverse organic waste streams into high-quality insect-based feed. This innovation addresses a critical need in the insect farming and processing sector, a field in which we have extensive experience.

Project partnership: Collaborative effort between Šraml d.o.o. and RBT TECHNOLOGIES d.o.o.

Implementation period: 1.11.2023 – 31.10.2025

Total project value € 560 000.

EU funding € 300 000.

Funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

EUREKA 2019

Project name: Technological system for thermomechanical dechitinization of insect biomass (2020-2023)

The aim of the project  is to develop a unique technological system for the extraction of chitin from processed insects. It is the development of the first technology on the global market that will enable the dechitinization of insect biomass while maintaining high-value insect components (proteins). In this way, the product contributes to solving two key, currently unresolved challenges of the global industry for the cultivation and processing of edible insects:

  • we enable the production of high-protein products without chitin with a wide range of applications for the consumption, intended for animals sensitive to chitin or animals that can metabolize it only in minimal amounts (example: Atlantic salmon),
  • we enable efficient extraction of chitin from insects – the latter represent an excellent source of this valuable natural polymer, but they are not currently used for the extraction of chitin, as extraction processes destroy the protein components in insects.

The purpose of the project is to solve the currently unresolved challenge of insect dechitinization, which will successfully solve two key problems for producers in the insect processing industry: 1) inability to efficiently produce high-quality protein products without chitin content and 2) inability to extract chitin from insects as a valuable co-product for various industrial applications.ž

ABOUT THE PROJECT

E-POSLOVANJE 2019-2022

The operation “Establishment and upgrade of e-commerce for foreign markets” is co-financed through the public tender “E-POSLOVANJE 2019-2022” and covers the following measures:

  • Electronic exchange between partners
  • Websites for foreign markets
  • Online store
  • Product Sales Video
  • Employee trainings

The objective of the tender, implemented through the Operational Program for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy, is to support SMEs to enter or expand their business to foreign markets, by establishing or upgrading e-commerce, and thus improve their international competitiveness.

The purpose of the operation is to support the entry into global value chains and new markets and increase international competitiveness through co-financing the eligible costs of setting up or upgrading e-commerce.

The results of the operation are 1) secure system for electronic exchange between partners, 2) redesigned company website, adapted to business operations in foreign markets, 3) established online store, 4) new videos, demonstrating the company’s key product lines and products, and 5) enhanced competencies of employees in the area of digital transformation.

The amount of co-financing is EUR  29.999,90. The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Name: Universal intelligent pneumatic press

Applicant / Consortium Partners: ŠRAML d.o.o. / Inea RBT d.o.o., AMON d.o.o.

Goal of the Project: Development of a universal intelligent pneumatic press HL Smartpress using a combination of advanced IT, process and hardware solutions, which would be the first to automate the process of pressing different types of fruit (grapes, pome and stone fruits) within one system.

Implementation period: 6 December 2018 – 5 December 2020

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

Project name: Development of Automated System for Magnetic Cleaning of Sparkling Wines (MagSpark)

The aim of the project is to develop an innovative automated system for rapid magnetic removal of yeast sediment from sparkling wine bottles. The new technology marks a turning point in the production of sparkling wines as it eliminates existing up to several weeks long, rigid and costly yeast removal process. It introduces efficient and flexible technology, which allows for the first time the producers of sparkling wine to clean, pack and ship their products to the market the same day as they are ordered. .

Implementation period: 6. 12. 2018 – 5. 12. 2020

The project is a joint R&D cooperation of two companies: InoVine d.o.o. and Šraml d.o.o.

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
