Twist-off bottle caps have a unique threading system which only requires a partial turn to open or close. Not only do they meet a wide range of needs, but they also preserve food and drinks in optimal conditions while being perfect for showcasing your range of products.
Composed of a single-head capping station, SRAML automatic PT twist-off capper ensures that glass bottles are tightly sealed, one by one, while being gently and safely conveyed through the capper without the liquid spilling.
Method of operation – Twist-off capping:
Filled bottles are directly transported from the fillers star-wheels into cappers scroll. The scroll transports the bottles trough the capping unit. The distance between filling and capping is as short as possible not allowing the product to cool before being capped. The bottle transporting method with scroll ensures a continued flow of the bottles through the capper without sudden movements that, could result in liquid spilling. The caps are correctly orientated, and feed in the cap shut, by external magnetic cap sorter-feeder.The caps are positioned in a towing shoe and directly picked up by the bottle. The steaming of the caps and bottle necks is done in the cap chute. The steam is also blown into the bottle neck just before the bottle meets the cap. The drag finger pre-turns the cap in the right position on the bottle, and are transported under the capping head. The rotating capping head will descent on to the bottle, self-clamping cap clamp will clamp and tighten the cap to a desired torque, provided by the magnetic clutch on the capping head.
Benefits of capping with steam:
- Sterilization of the cap and bottle neck, no bottle tilting needed after capping.
- Steam condensation in the closed bottle, will increase the vacuum inside it.
- Steam replaces the air in the bottle, lower oxidation, increase of the product shelf life.
- Softening the sealing compound in the cap, better sealing.
