Lisjak Estates upgraded its bottling process with a custom-made SRAML monoblock line that significantly improved efficiency and reduced manual work. What once required 2–3 people for a full working day can now be handled by just one person in only a couple of hours. The new setup also ensures better product protection, consistent performance, and easier daily maintenance. As a result, Lisjak Estates can plan more efficiently, build stock more easily, and support continued growth across international markets.

Introduction

Lisjak Estates is a family-run company focused on producing premium olive oil, and in recent years they have also expanded into wine production. Their main markets include Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, and Switzerland, while they export to more than 30 countries—a scale that demands consistent quality, reliable processes, and efficient logistics.

As volumes grow, manual bottling quickly becomes a bottleneck. That was exactly the challenge that pushed Lisjak Estates to look for a long-term solution.

The Challenge:

When Growing Volumes Outgrow Manual Work

In the interview, Matej Lisjak explains that a few years ago they faced issues related to increasing quantities. It’s a common situation: demand rises, orders increase, and packing requirements become more intense—while the bottling process still depends on time-consuming manual work.

They started exploring available options on the market, and feedback from other wineries pointed them in a clear direction: SRAML.

The Solution:

A Custom-Made Monoblock Line Built Around Their Process

After the first meeting, the project was not about selecting a standard machine—it was about developing a custom-made solution that fits their product, workflow, and future growth.

Matej highlights that the equipment was custom-made, and that the collaboration was “really nice” because SRAML was willing to implement modifications and find the right solutions. Just as importantly, SRAML continued to support them after installation—visiting the facility several times to make fine adjustments and ensure the line performs perfectly in real production conditions.

How the Bottling Process Works

In their setup, SRAML’s key advantage is a well-designed process flow that improves both speed and product protection:

  1. Bottle infeed

  2. Nitrogen (N₂) dosing – to remove air from the bottle and reduce oxygen presence.

  3. Vacuum filling – faster than standard filling methods, stable and repeatable.

  4. Another nitrogen spray before closing – additional protection against oxidation.

  5. Capping

  6. From the monoblock to the labeling section

This approach is especially valuable for premium products, where consistency and controlled conditions matter—bottle after bottle, batch after batch.

The Results: Less Labor, Fewer Hours, More Output

The most immediate benefit was a major improvement in daily organization and labor requirements:

  • before the investment: 2–3 people bottling 8 hours per day

  • after SRAML: 1 person working for a couple of hours a day is enough

  • plus the ability to build stock, which makes planning and logistics much easier

As Matej says, now “everything is done in just a couple of hours”—a direct win for efficiency and cost control.

Performance and Maintenance

Lisjak Estates also emphasized two key strengths:

  • high speed: up to 2,000 bottles per hour

  • easy maintenance and cleaning: designed for practical, straightforward daily operation

Combined with the custom build and reliable post-installation support, the result is what producers value most: a bottling process that works smoothly every day.

Conclusion

The Lisjak Estates story is a strong example of how smart automation can solve a very practical problem—increasing volumes—while enabling better organization, scalable growth, and more reliable deliveries to international markets.

At SRAML, we don’t just build machines—we develop tailor-made solutions for real production needs, from the first consultation and engineering, to installation and on-site optimization.
